Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre

Monkey World is an internationally renowned ape rescue center providing sanctuary for over 250 primates rescued from abuse, pet trade, and inadequate facilities worldwide. This 65-acre park houses the largest collection of chimpanzees outside Africa, plus orangutans, gibbons, lemurs, and many monkey species in spacious, naturalistic enclosures. The park’s primary mission is rescue and rehabilitation, with moving stories of individual primates saved from terrible conditions. Visitors can watch chimpanzee groups playing, grooming, and displaying natural behaviors in large woodland enclosures. Daily talks and feeding demonstrations explain each species’ natural history, rescue stories, and conservation status. The orangutan nursery shows baby orangutans learning skills for eventual release. Monkey World pioneered techniques for integrating traumatized primates into social groups. The park combines entertainment with important conservation and education missions. Excellent facilities include adventure playground, café, and gift shop. Visiting supports rescue work while providing unforgettable primate encounters. Truly special place making real difference.
